Glossary of Terms

BrowserThe application you are using to surf the internet, e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox.
ClientThe person that is going to be viewing you website end product. Can sometimes be referred to as End User.
CopyThe words or content written to explain what the page is about.
DCMDatabase Content Management - a separate administration that holds additional content.
eCommerceLevel 3 of the Konstruk product. This is used for online shopping.
End UserThe person that is going to be viewing you website end product. Can sometimes be referred to as Client.
IconThe pictorial image of a node.
NavigationSometimes referred to / known as menu. This is how your client gets around your website.
NodeThe item that is in the tree of your website administration. It has different icons depicting what type of node it is. i.e. Page, Image, File etc.
RGB / FFThe internet uses RGB color reference as opposed to the print industry that uses predominately CMYK. The FF # is the number that is made up of the RGB color pallet.
Search EngineGoogle, Bing, Yahoo etc. Where the End User or Client finds your website via an internet search.
SEOSearch Engine Optimisation - where you tell Google, Yahoo, Bing etc about your website and get them to place your website higher on the page.
TreeThe hierarchal structure of your website.  A visual representation of the navigation on your website in the administration console.
URLThe address that is type into the address bar of your browser, i.e. www.abc.co.nz/home.
